Grow-Op Chicago Info Session

Gardeners, farmers, home growers, community advocates, UNITE!

Join us for a general interest meet-up as we being the winter planning sessions and we prep for a busy 2019!

We will recap last years efforts in a small presentation and host a brainstorming session where we'd love to talk through our goals and invite you to give your input on next steps!

Our goal is to attract long-term members/collaborators who share our goals of economic democracy, sustainable development, and want to be a part of a healthy, happy city. We believe in urban agriculture and appreciate the utility of community gardens and want to see both worlds grow together!

Here are some specific roles we are seeking volunteers for:

-Grant writing, networking
-Start seeds for community gardens in your own home! (all supplies provided)
-Responsible for drop-off & pick up of seedlings once a week
-Requires a car, reimbursed for gas
Videography / Photography
-Documenting Saturday garden days may-august (once or twice a month)
-Filming/Storyboarding 1-2 minute "How To" educational video series
-Volunteering at different community garden / garden projects around city

Grow-Op Chicago is a community garden advocacy group and seed-starting initiative based in Logan Square. Our mission is to increase the growing capacity of community gardens in low-income communities. We mobilize volunteers to start seeds at home and then distribute the mature plants to participating gardens and organizations.
